The injuries keep flowing for each of these teams as Leandro Barbosa is now officially out for tonight's game with a sore ankle, according to ESPNNewYork.com's Mike Mazzeo. As stated in my preview for tonight's game, Andrea Bargnani is also out for the game tonight with a calf injury. The Raptors don't have much offensive firepower with those two guys out of the line-up.
Regarding the Nets, Brook Lopez and Mehmet Okur are both out for tonight's game and Okur is expected back in a few games while Brook is expected back sometime in early February. There is also good news for the Nets in terms of Marshon Brooks' Achilles. Brooks has been cleared to play tonight but will play only "limited minutes" according to The Record's Andy Vasquez. Personally, I have no clue why Avery is risking the reaggravation of Marshon's Achilles, especially against a under-talented and under-manned Toronto team, but I guess he felt that Marshon needs to get rid of some of the rust that he has accumulated during his absence from the line-up.
Brooklyn Balling is your home for all Brooklyn Nets news, analysis, commentary, game coverage and anything else related to the team. I've been a lifelong fan since the Meadowlands days (gasp!) and have stuck with the team ever since, through the isolated highs and devastatingly long-lasting lows. Welcome and feel free to email/comment with anything you might have to say.
