Dennis, an undrafted rookie from Kutztown, was signed by the Nets over the summer on a training camp invite |
Dennis didn't have much of a shot to make the team in the first place and didn't really get that fair of a shake, playing only limited minutes in the preseason against other teams' deep reserves. Of course, that really isn't the optimal place for a lower level player on the depth chart to make a significant impression on a coach.
You're losing a true talent here. Of course the nets have other reservations and think that just maybe there are other guys that could do better. Dennis will make a team somewhere. If he's givent the right opportunity, he will show what he's made of.
ReplyDeleteI haven't see much of him play as Avery Johnson didn't give him a lot of action with the Nets in preseason, but he did look like an active guard with decent enough size to make an NBA roster. Wouldn't be surprised to see him on a NBA team by the All-Star break, possibly via the D-League
